The healing effects of leeches have been mentioned for the first time in the era of Egyptian pharaohs. Nowadays are leeches used for medical purposes only in certain clinics, mainly for diseases connected with blood circulation, e.g. varicose veins. They are also used in neurological surgery to speed up the healing process after amputation and reattachment of limb parts. 

Leech glands contain more than 100 biologically active substances, of which the best known is hirudin.

Sophia - cream with leech extract is used for peripheral blood circulation insufficiency of lower limbs, for surface inflammation of veins, varicose vein enlargement and chronic vein insufficiency (CVI). What is more, it has been successfully proved useful for problems, such as: foot fatigue, leg heaviness, tension, oedemas, cramps, spider veins and varicose veins. Cream contains substances that penetrate deep into tissues, even to venous and vascular walls which they nourish and regenerate. Therefore, the process of formation and widening of varicose veins is significantly restrained. Cream has also been verified against stiff neck and breast pain.  

This cream contains beeswax and medicinal leech extract - hirudin. It is a treasure for people with following problems:

In traditional medicines, people have been using leeches for thousands of years. Hirudin is the most potent natural inhibitor of thrombin, it prevents or dissolves the formation of clots and thrombi, and has a therapeutic value in blood coagulation disorders and during superficial varicose veins. The cream in combination with beeswax, silver ions and other special herbs has an anti-inflammatory effect, improves blood circulation and micro-circulation in tissues, warms up cold hands and feet. It also relaxes venous and muscle tension as well as muscle cramps, strengthens venous and wessel walls

Contains following substances: water enriched with silver ions, beeswax, medicinal leech extract, sea buckthorn (Hippophae) oil, oil extract of Japanese pagoda tree (Sophora japonica), horse chestnut (Aesculum hippocastanum), extracts of Gentiana, common marigold (Calendula officinalis), chamomile (Matricaria recutita), seaweed, field horsetail (Equisetum arvense), alcohol extract of oak bark (Quercus cortex), aloe vera, vitamins A, E, D – panthenol, hydrolised collagen, vitanol

Usage: Massage the cream into the affected area 2-3 times a day. Massaging upwards is higly recommended for treating foot fatigue. Therapy lasts 3-5 weeks or when it is desirable or necessary, e.g. after a physically demanding work when legs are overstrained.

Warning: Do not use in case of an individual intolerance or hypersensitivity to a specific component of the cream. Do not use for mucous membranes and do not apply to open wounds.
