Inulin-Nutrimed is a dietary supplement with the content of inulin from common chicory (Cichorium intybus). It successfully adjusts the level of glucose, cholesterol, triglycerides (fats contained in food), significantly helps during diabetes.

  • regulates cholesterol levels in blood
  • regulates sugar levels
  • improves digestion
  • helps during diabetes

Inulin-Nutrimed is recommended for treatment of non-insulin-dependent diabetes (type 2). It promotes reduction of blood sugar levels and normalisation of carbohydrate and lipid metabolism, prevents vascular complications by patients with non-insulin-dependent diabetes (type 2), arterosclerosis. It can also be used as prophylaxis of diabetes mellitus in persons with risk factors (overweight, heredity, etc).

Inulin extracted from fresh chicory roots is the main active substance of the completely natural plant preparation Inulin-Nutrimed.

Long-term clinical studies have proven efficiency of Inulin-Nutrimed in many diseases. However, the most significant effect is seen with diabetes mellitus. The unique attribute of the preparation lies in the fact that it does not only reduce the blood glucose level (not causing hypoglycemia), but also normalises carbohydrate and lipid exchange, preventing the appearance and development of vascular complications in diabetes mellitus. Intake of Inulin-Nutrimed at the initial stage of the disease makes it possible to live without the need of synthetic antihyperglycemic drugs for a long time. At a later stage, Inulin-Nutrimed allows reducing the dose of basic antihyperglycemic drugs and prevents vascular complications.

Inulin-Nutrimed is applied during:

  • monotherapy in newly diagnosed or mild type 2 diabetes mellitus
  • treatment to reduce the dose of basic antihyperglycemic drug
  • prevention of vascular complications in moderate and severe diabetes
  • normaliseation of carbohydrate and lipid exchange

The cultivated chicory plant has a history reaching back to ancient Egypt time. Medieval monks raised the plants and when coffee was introduced to Europe, the Dutch started using Chicory as an alternative to coffee. In the United States chicory root has long been used as a substitute for coffee in prisons. By the 1840s the port of New Orleans was the second largest importer of coffee. Louisianans began to add chicory root to their coffee when Union naval blockades during the American Civil War cut off the port of New Orleans creating a long-standing tradition.

Chicory is a common ingredient in typical Roman recipes, generally fried with garlic and red pepper to add its bitter and spicy flavour to meat or potato dishes. In 2005, China and the USA were the top producers of lettuce and chicory.
